Why is that? During this session, we will hear from experts who have both successfully deployed services procurement programmes, as well as those who are in the process of overcoming the challenges of deploying this solution. We will explore the differences posed in getting SOW under control, starting with what SOW ‘is’ and more importantly, ‘what it is not’. During this highly interactive session, the panel will present their best practices to assist in helping you on the road to success.

| Technology & Operations Track | IR35 Off-Payroll Rules – The Future for Contracting in the UK | Beech | From 6 April 2020, affected client organisations engaging Personal Service Company (PSC) contractors will be liable for income tax and both employees’ and employer’s National Insurance Contributions (NICs) due on payments of deemed employment income to a PSC contractor, until they have fulfilled their obligations under the rules. Businesses have spent the last several months assessing their contractor population to ensure they are genuinely self-employed, and some have even decided to avoid engaging PSCs altogether in the future. Will the rules halt the rise of independent contracting in the UK or will SOW become the new norm? Our panellists will share their organisation’s experience of implementing the IR35 off-payroll rules and what their workforce mix might look like in the future.

| Technology & Operations Track | Tackling the Long Tail Spend | Beech | Pareto’s Law generally holds true amongst global organisations where around 20% of spend exists in around 80% of the low volume countries and visibility of this spend is minimal. Whilst the spend levels may be low, the very fact that the procurement of this workforce is ‘uncontrolled’, means that it could pose the greatest risk to the organisation and harbour the deepest inefficiencies. Bringing this spend within a structured programme with VMS, is something that many organisations are keen to achieve. During this highly interactive discussion, our panel of experts, representing category owners, MSP and VMS, will discuss this issue and seek to provide guidance as to how to achieve visibility into this category of spend.

| Talent Track | How has one of the Most Famous British Institutions Tackled Complex Recruitment Challenges to Achieve Record Success? | Westbourne 1-2 | The British Army is tasked to deliver some of the most critical services underpinning our national security. Recruitment has been a well publicised challenge for several years but has been transformed and targets are now being achieved. | This session will explore the transformation of a unique partnership, following the Army’s journey to overcome a series of complex challenges to locate and attract the right talent; develop a strong employer value proposition; and use data and insight to drive better outcomes. From our VMS and MSP Landscape reports to mergers and acquisitions, we cover almost every aspect of the workforce ecosystem. In this session, we will showcase buyer insights from the various SIA research reports, including unique analysis from our 2019 Workforce Solutions Buyer Survey. The data presented will help contingent workforce programme managers benchmark their programme against some of the most mature Contingent Workforce programmes in the industry.

| Technology & Operations Track | VMS Global Landscape | Beech | Since the emergence of VMS almost 25 years ago, the role of the technology has evolved from that of a system of record, primarily supporting processes where contingent workers are sourced through staffing agencies (vendors), to supporting workers sourced through services contracts (Statement of Work and Outsourced Services) to, more recently, supporting the direct sourcing of contingent workers though company specific attraction programmes or via freelancer or recruitment marketplaces. | With increasing buyer sophistication, and the expectation of contingent workforce programmes to prove their value beyond cost saving and visibility, there has been a rise in demand for meaningful data analytics, benchmarks and insights to inform sourcing decisions and improve efficiency. | Hear how this critical technology for contingent workforce programme management is evolving and more important how your programme can too.

| Talent Track | How to Approach Sustainability and Diversity of your Workforce Across Europe | Westbourne 1-2 | More than 70 years ago, our business was founded on the principle of Doing Well by Doing Good – delivering a profit to our shareholders while contributing to society. Fast forward to today and this dual purpose still holds true: "We believe meaningful, sustainable employment has the power to change the world." | Our Sustainability Plan is built around learnability and employability: how we help people nurture the desire and ability to develop in-demand skills to be employable for the long-term. | Hear a distinguished panel discuss their current plans and actions to engage the total workforce including the ones with disadvantages from the start. Discussion points will be: - Creating opportunities that help tomorrow’s talent develop the skills they need before they enter the labour market - Providing opportunities for people to acquire new skills and adapt to the fast-changing world of work - Nurturing diversity and providing opportunities for all people to participate in the workplace and achieve their potential

| Workforce Challenges & Research Track | Keeping your Contingent Workers is Hard but Losing your Contingent Workers can be Expensive - What is the Cost of Turnover? | Westbourne 3-4 | In an ever-tightening market for talent, turnover of contingent workers is something all contingent workforce programmes experience. We think and feel that turnover is expensive but, how do we prove it? This session will share the methodology to help you uncover what turnover costs your organisation, what you can do to potentially improve your retention strategies, and how you can drive additional value and bottom-line revenue to your organisation.

11:15 – 11:45 | Networking Break & Exhibits Open | Nine Kings Suite

| Technology & Operations Track | Blockchain and Digital Credentialing | Beech | Background checking candidate details is a time-consuming process and frustration ensues when it delays a candidate from being onboarded. There is a strong need for more efficient and reliable identity and credential verification solutions, in order to quickly engage the right candidates, efficiently onboard new workers and reduce risk within your business. The perceived immutable, secure, private, decentralised nature of blockchain technology has inspired technology companies and others to explore blockchain-based solutions that could potentially mitigate these inefficiencies and fraud. This session will explore the benefits blockchain might offer and how it could revolutionise digital credentialing.

| Talent Track | Breaking the Divide between Talent Acquisition and Contingent Workforce Programmes | Westbourne 1-2 | The contingent workforce is very different from an employee workforce. But at the core, many of the practices and responsibilities are consistent. One thing that both these areas have in common is people. To be more competitive in attracting top talent, companies are starting to look at how to leverage these two recently disparate areas to find a unified talent brand and workforce strategy to help them win the war on talent. Join our panel of experts as they share how organisations are removing barriers between these areas and tackling common challenges like sourcing, talent attraction and holistic workforce planning.

15:30 – 16:30 | The Role of the CHRO – The Future of HR | Westbourne 1-4 | In 2019, CEOs globally stated their biggest concern internally for their organisation was attracting and retaining talent. This has propelled the role of HR from having a seat at the table to often times placing them at the head of the table. Gone are the days when the HR function’s focus was on the full-time employee. For an organisation to be competitive, they must engage the right talent, at the right time, at the right cost and however the talent wishes to be engaged, whether that is full-time, contingent, onsite or remote. During this session, our panel of CHROs share how their role is expanding and how technology, data and analytics provide them the ability to look at their entire workforce like never before.
